R.I.P to Tina Turner: Music Legend dies at age 83

Legendary singer Tina Turner passed away today May 24th, 2023. Known by many as the ‘Queen of Rock N’ Roll” died in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland at the age of 83. Tina Turner had a career that spanned over seven decades starting in the late 1950s with her then-husband Ike Turner.  

Many are familiar with her story through the 1993 film What’s Love Got to Do With It which starred Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne. The film garnered Best Actress and Best Actor Oscar nominations for Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne respectively.  

Tina was one of the most accomplished entertainers of all time, she was a 12-time Grammy winner, and two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Her other accolades include a Lifetime Achievement Grammy, three American Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, an NAACP Image Award, an Essence Award, two World Music Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a Kennedy Center Honor, and inductions into the Soul Music Hall of Fame, the St. Louis Classic Rock Hall of Fame and the Memphis Music Hall of Fame. She is survived by Bach and two sons, Ike Turner Jr., and Michael Turner. To read more about this story click here.
