The Black Music Month Induction recognizes and honors trailblazing artists, iconic entertainers, and luminaries who have impacted Black culture and the community at large.
The press conference and press induction announcement took place on June 12th, 2023 at MODEx Studios in Atlanta. The event was hosted by the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame co-founders Catherine Brewton, Demmette Guidry, and Erica Thomas. Veteran superstar actor Danny Glover was a special guest at the event.
This year’s Black Month Class includes Mahalia Jackson, Queen Latifah, Lil Wayne, Magic Johnson, Marvin Sapp, Busta Rhymes, Jermaine Dupri, and Dallas Austin. These inductees will have the Crown Jewel of Excellence emblems permanently installed on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, in front of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
