Jamie Foxx’s first Public Speech, but we still don’t know what happened to him

During a nearly 15-minute speech, Jamie Foxx appeared on stage for the first time since being hospitalized earlier this year for an unknown illness.  “You know, it’s crazy, I couldn’t do that six months ago — I couldn’t actually walk,” Foxx admitted to the audience.

The multitalented artist made a surprise appearance at the Critics’ Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema and Television: Honoring Black, Latino, and AAPI Achievements on Monday night. He was honored with the Vanguard Award for his performance in “The Burial,” from Amazon’s Prime Video.

During his speech, Foxx gave insight into how severe his condition was. Telling the audience “I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it’s tough when it’s almost over” And although, he went as far as to say he saw “the tunnel,” he didn’t reveal what his medical condition was.

I guess it doesn’t matter at this point. What is important, is that Foxx is alive, grateful, and sharing his inspiration with others.

“Don’t give up on your art, man, don’t give up on your art, he added.  When you realize that it could be over like that… I got to tell you don’t give up on your art and don’t let them take the art from you either.”
