Vikings acquire QB Sam Bradford in trade with Eagles

The Vikings will give up a first-round pick in 2017 and an additional pick in 2018.

The Vikings have been searching for a quarterback since Teddy Bridgewater was declared out for the season this week with a serious left knee injury.

Bradford is reunited with tight ends coach Pat Shurmur, who was the offensive coordinator with the Rams when the team chose the quarterback with the first round of the 2010 draft. Shurmur also worked with Bradford as the Eagles’ offensive coordinator, and later interim head coach, last season.

The move means Chase Daniel will probably begin the season as the Eagles starting quarterback. The team traded up to draft Carson Wentz with the second pick in the draft, but he played only one preseason game due to a rib injury.
