Apple sold nine million new iPhones over the last weekend. Demand for the new iPhone 5S outstripped supply and Apple say sales for iPhones 5S and 5C beat any previous new phone launches. Analysts had expected sales figures between six and seven million.
The 5S has a built-in fingerprint sensor, while the 5C has a plastic back available in a choice of colors. The phones went on sale from Friday, Sept. 20 and the company aimed to create a successful launch weekend as it did not allow any pre-orders for the phones.
