Bracamontes and his wife were on the run from law enforcement after they shot Oliver in a hotel parking lot on Oct. 24, authorities said.
The couple tried to carjack a motorist, who refused to turn over his keys and was shot in the head, authorities said. They allegedly stole another car and drove to Auburn, where they were confronted by Davis and his partner.
Bracamontes shot Davis, who later died, authorities said.
The couple stole a Placer County sheriff’s vehicle and shotgun, prosecutors said. Bracamontes was later arrested in a residence while his wife was inside the car.
Bracamontes’ public defenders did not immediately return a request for comment.
