President Trump’s Board of Peace: A Great Scam or Great Idea?

Now if you believe him, then I would call that the first part of the “hustle”.   The second part is that Trump asked countries to pay a $1 billion dollar fee for a permanent spot on his “Board of Peace.”

It has been stated that the board’s purpose will expand beyond the reconstruction of Gaza. According to CNBC, it will promote global stability and conflict resolution around the world. This seems ironic, based on the instability that exists in Trump’s own country, especially as of late, with the protests of ICE agents within certain communities.

Lastly, it is the actual formation of the Board of Peace. Trump has floated some ideas throughout his two terms in office, which has never come to fruition.  To see this organization take place is surprising, and to see countries join, it is more surprising.

Although there is a long list of countries that have not joined the BOP, an equal number of countries have accepted the invitation. Here is a list of countries that accepted the invitation from the Board of Peace and joined Trump during the recent signing of the agreement.

Nations who have accepted

Argentina

Albania

Belarus

Egypt

Hungary

Jordan

Saudi Arabia

United Arab Emirates (UAE)

These are the countries who have declined and have rejected the invitation or publicly said they will not participate:

France – declined, citing concerns about undermining the international order and the role of the UN

Norway

Sweden.

Slovenia

United Kingdom – haven’t given a full refusal, but declined to join the signing ceremony

These are the nations that have been invited but haven’t committed

Cambodia

China

Cyprus

Germany

Greece

India

Russia

Italy

Croatia

Paraguay

Singapore

Thailand

Ukraine

European Union’s executive arm

I can’t say with certainty that this is a dishonest scheme or fraud. It is a real agreement that was signed at the World Economic Forum (WEF) on January 22, 2026, in Davos, Switzerland. I suspect that this is a swindling job by the U.S president. Especially when I see his son-in-law as one of the members of the “Board of Executives.”

Mr Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner (L) and Secretary of State Marco Rubio (R) are on the board

These are the members of the Executive Board.

Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State

Steve Witkoff, U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East

Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law

Sir Tony Blair, former U.K. prime minister

Marc Rowan, CEO, Apollo

Ajay Banga, World Bank president

Robert Gabriel, security advisor

Seeing a former businessman collect a billion dollars from multiple countries makes me uneasy. Furthermore, I have rarely seen world leaders come together in my lifetime for the sake of peace. Usually, there is an ulterior motive that they are trying to get a piece of something. Either way, aligning themselves with Trump may be a great idea if they get what they want, or a great scam if he is the only one who gets what he wants.
