SIAC Cares Event – March 4, 2025
The first order of business was giving back to the community. SIAC Cares, a community outreach initiative that united student-athletes, coaches, and SIAC officials to provide needed services to the Atlanta community. That included mentoring local youth, volunteering at nonprofit organizations, and giving underserved communities resources that could help them in their daily lives.
Cigars and Conversations – March 4, 2025
Later that evening it was time to relax and bring in the week the right way. What better way to do it than a Cigars and Conversations event among your friends and colleagues. This was the exclusive kickoff event for the SIAC Basketball Championship Tournament brought together by SIAC University Presidents and Athletic Directors. It took place at Fellaship.ATL from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM and was hosted by SIAC Commissioner Holloman. It was a nice evening of networking, discussions and of course cigars!
Game CHANGEher Brunch – March 7, 2025
The impact of women in sports cannot be understated or ignored. In order to celebrate and highlight the power of women in our everyday lives, Game CHANGEher had a Brunch on March 7. This exclusive event was held at the Thomas Cole Exhibition Hall at Clark Atlanta University.
A panel discussion that honored trailblazing female athletes, coaches, and executives, while having conversations on leadership, inclusion, and career advancement.
CAM NEWTON x HBCU Yard Fest – March 7, 2025
You can’t have a HBCU event without stomping the yard! The HBCU Yard Fest was held on Friday, March 7, at the President’s Lot at Clark Atlanta University. The event featured live performances, interactive experiences, food trucks and activations from sponsors. Cam Newton also had a live broadcast of his 4th and 1 podcast, which provided extra energy to the experience. This event celebrated the HBCU culture, athletics, and student life.
Sponsors Appreciation Brunch – March 8, 2025
The Sponsors Appreciation Brunch on March 8 honored the SIAC executives and corporate partners that support these events and beyond. It was an invite-only event that celebrated all the brands and organizations that help drive the success of SIAC student-athletes, scholarship programs, and community initiatives.
The 2025 SIAC Basketball Championship Tournament was successful in providing more than just a showcase of athletic excellence. It stood for community service, cultural celebration, and industry collaboration.
