The Cast of the BET+ Original Movie “The Accused” reveal a deeper meaning behind their new movie

Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton, The Bold and the Beautiful) plays Lance Branson, a detective who must choose sides while figuring out what is right or wrong.

The movie is based on a story by Pat White, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Clarence Williams. “The Accused” was written for the screen by Tony Glazer and directed by Tony Glazer.

It also featured music from MC Lyte. Tony Glazer joined Paige Audrey-Marie Hurd, Lawerence Saint-Victor, and other cast members for a Zoom conference with media members to discuss the movie.

One of the things the actors pointed out was how the movie related to them personally. No one expressed this more than Rockmond Dunbar. Some might remember Dunbar from his role as Kenny Chadway on the Showtime series Soul Food. The veteran actor also had roles on Prison Break and, more recently, as Michael Grant on 9-1-1.

Despite a brief role in the movie, he was able to relate his character to his fight against Hollywood and his refusal to take a COVID-19 shot during the pandemic.

Dunbar filed a religious discrimination lawsuit against the Disney-owned 20th Television in 2022. He was granted a trial by a judge in 2024. I was not able to find out the trial date or the outcome of his case.

Well, leave it up to me to lighten the mood during that afternoon. I wanted to know if the actors did their stunts during the movie, which brought a smile to their faces.

However, it quickly shifted back to how the movie coincided with the political and social issues occurring in this country.

For some reason, I appreciated the movie more for entertainment and drama, not for it’s message. The BET+ original movie is set to premiere Thursday, April 10.
