I didn’t want to get too deep, but it’s morning, and I feel reflective. I was thinking about how I talked about how I had never seen New Edition perform and would love to see them one day. The next day, I was in Washington D.C. watching them on stage at the Phoenix Awards Dinner.
Yes, I was excited but quickly became dissatisfied to downright disappointed. I thought I was going to see a good performance but was underwhelmed with shaky singing and stale dance moves. In their defense, the group has been on the road since they were teenagers. After 40 years of performing, I guess you can have an off night; but why did had to be the night I was there?
It could also be that they were performing in front of a group of politicians, a crowd that included the President and Vice President. Maybe it would have been better if I caught them on their actual tour or their Las Vegas residency.
Nonetheless, it wasn’t what I expected, not to mention Bobby Brown wasn’t there. Anyway, I got some of their performance on camera and the footage was shakier than their show. Either way, you can check it out below.
