Chance The Rapper, Kelly Clarkson to Play White House Xmas Tree Ceremony

It’s no surprise that Lil Chano made the cut, since President Obama included Chance’s “Acid Rain” on his summer playlist. Chance also revealed last month that he knows the Obamas are fans of his Coloring Book album, which he told GQ is on repeat at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. “They’re bumping Coloring Book hard up there. If you go up there, you’ll probably hear Coloring Book. This is not a joke at all,” he said.

Chance was among a group of musicians who met with Obama in April to discuss the president’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative, aimed at spurring criminal justice reform in the U.S. Clarkson isn’t new to the White House either. The pop idol ripped “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” at Obama’s second inauguration in 2013; Adams appeared at a White House “In Performance” celebration of Ray Charles in April.

Free tickets for the 94th annual event will be awarded through an online lottery, which begins at 10 a.m. ET on Oct. 7. To enter the lottery go towww.thenationaltree.org
