Bodycam footage has been released of Chicago Police shooting and killing a 13-year-old boy. The video shows an officer chasing Adam Toledo and telling at him to stop. Once Toledo stopped, the officer told him to put his hands up. Toledo complied by putting his hands up, but when the officer got out the vehicle and shot him.
Initially, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office said that Adam Toldeo had a gun. However, a spokesperson for the office backtracked on that claim by saying a prosecutor “failed to fully inform himself.”
“An attorney who works in this office failed to fully inform himself before speaking in court,” the spokesperson stated. “Errors like that cannot happen and this has been addressed with the individual involved. The video speaks for itself.”
