On the heels Grassley’s scrutiny, Winkowski said DHS will adopt a new policy that would more closely scrutinize who is eligible to be released.
“I am instituting new procedures requiring that an appropriate senior-level supervisor must approve before ICE releases potentially dangerous individuals,” Winkowski wrote in the letter to Grassley.
