Lauryn Hill explains why artists need protection from record companies

Last year California State Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez introduced the Free Artists from Industry Restrictions Act. The bill which is also known as the FAIR Act is calling for artist or label contracts in California to be limited to seven years. A big supporter of the FAIR Act is Lauryn Hill. The Grammy award-winning artist has been urging lawmakers to pass the bill that will give artists some type of protection from unfair practices in the music business. Lauryn went on Instagram and expressed how she felt about the FAIR act and some of the business tactics of record companies. Check out her post below
