Lebronorexus: New Specie Found in NBA

Alum Williams, a geneticist at Manchester Metropolitan University in England, states “there is no perfect specimen based on 23 chosen genes”. But given that 6.8 billion people live on Earth why is there only one King James? Is there something other than genes at work? Is epigenetics the reason for his astonishing athletics feats?
Epigenetics is a newer science attempting to explain how environment and behavior, strenuous exercise, can actually turn particular genes on and off in patterns that might be passed on through generations.

Retired decorated Olympian Michael Johnson has raised controversy over his statement that the descendants of slaves have special genes that make them superior athletes. “All my life I believed I became an athlete through my own determination but it’s impossible to think that being descended from slaves hasn’t left an imprint through the generation,” he is quoted as saying in the British newspaper the Dailey Mail. Difficult as it was to hear, slavery has benefitted descendants,” he also said, “it’s a taboo subject in the states but it is what it is. Why shouldn’t we discuss it?”

King James dominance in basketball involves a complex mix of epigenetics and genes. But is his talent also from multiple generations of slaves —dating back to the South? Male slaves were bred like horses for fighting, racing, and breeding strong physical types that could endure the harsh barbarity of slavery. Some people scoff at this notion but this phenomenon exists with lab rats, fighting dogs, bulls, horses—the superior ones are bred with one another and each generation has a greater skillset.

Does Michael Johnson’s remarks, fall within the ideas of scientific racism? Is it merely a pseudo-scientific statement or are there some grains of truth? A cover story in the 1997 Sports Illustrated titled “Whatever Happened to the White Athlete? Is it in the Genes?” The SI readers responded “he’s coaching, he is a doctor, lawyer, and physicist, engineer—–is white privilege one variable in the equation when we analyze the predominance and evolution of King James.
