Mass shooting near polling place in Los Angeles County

The Times reports that the suspect ended up surrounded by police after retreating to a house, and was recognized by a witness who lives in the area.

The polling place near where the shooting took place was locked down, and so were some area schools. Los Angeles County Registrar Dean Logan advised voters to avoid the area and use other polling locations. Logan later reported that the polling location at Dalton Elementary School “is open and operational,” while the one at Memorial Park remained closed.

A short time after this post was published, the Azusa P.D. confirmed that officers have barricaded the suspect.

A Los Angeles County-based photojournalist later tweeted these images.
