Millions in Silver Found on War World II Ship

The SS City of Cairo was sunk by a German U-boat in 1942 carrying 296 civilians and 100 tons of silver. The ship went undiscovered until 2011, when a Deep Ocean Search decided to locate it. It wasn’t until this week that British Government decided to release the report on the findings. The 100 tons of silver were melted and sold; a percentage of the money went to the Deep Ocean Search and the remainder to the UK treasury. To read more about this story click here.
