Tell us about your new album.
Well, it’s dope as hell! What else you want to know? Nah, it is a collaborative effort with our family Empire Music that’s called #SwissVets produced entirely by Jake Beatz of PW Records and DJ Tray of Empire Music/#ItsTheVets. The premise of the project is based on our experience while recording it in Switzerland. We have a great time whenever we are there but this time was crazy because each night we did something different and by the end of it all we’d end up in the studio rapping about those days and nights. Shout out the whole Switzerland, we ran all through that! But it is a must-listen. Some may say some of the songs are not your typical N.B.S. records but as a Hip Hop consumer and fan of our music you will love this project! What was it like growing up in Boston?
It’s like any other city or state in the US: fucked up! We grew up in rough neighborhoods! Both Roxbury boys, you can do your history on that. But we moved to Cambridge at a young age to seek a better living environment, only to be exposed to some of the things our parents wanted us to stay away from! But we played basketball, had good educations and excelled when most of our peers didn’t. Where you grow up doesn’t matter. It’s how you grow up. We came up in tough areas with guidance. We know nerds from the projects and fake thugs from the suburbs. That should sum it up right there. Struggle is real. The struggle is universal and colorless. Nowadays people choose how they are brought up rather than accepting how they are brought up, and turn that into a positive.
