New police station boundaries for SFPD to go into effect

The Bayview station will include the northern border at Mariposa Street and Fallen Bridge Park, said police.

The Central station will expand to include Justin Herman Plaza and Union Square, and the southern border will move to Mission Street.

The Northern station is moving the western border to Divisadero Street, will lose the Duboce Triangle, and its border with the Tenderloin will move to Polk Street between Golden Gate Avenue and Geary Street.

The Richmond station will lose the area between Stanyon Street on the west along Geary and Fulton streets and to Divisadero Street on the east.

The Southern station is moving its southern border for the new Southern station to Mariposa Street.

The Tenderloin station will move its southern border to Mission Street between Third Street and South Van Ness, and a portion of the western border moves to Polk Street. The station will lose Union Square.

The Ingleside and Taraval station boundaries will remain unchanged.

These boundary changes are significant to learn, since the public could be asked to call, or actually visit their local station, on non-emergency related issues.
