The album’s physical release hit shelves March 11th, which should bode well for second-week sales. Compare that to last week’s Number One album, the 1975’s I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware, which dropped out of the Top 10 completely in its second week of availability. Adele’s 25 remained at Number Two with another 61,000 copies, followed by Rihanna’s Anti at Number Three.
2 Chainz and Lil Wayne‘s joint Collegrove entered the charts at 53,000 total sales, all of which came digitally; the album won’t be released physically until March 25th. Lamar and 2 Chainz/Wayne would provide the Billboard 200’s upper crust with its only debuts as the usual suspects populated the lower half of the Top 10.
Justin Bieber’s Purpose held tight at Number Five while Joey + Rory’s Hymns rose from Number 10 to Number Six following the death of Joey Feek on March 4th. Chris Stapleton’s Traveller (Number Seven), Twenty One Pilots’ Blurryface (Eight), the Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness (Nine) and Kevin Gates’ Islah (Number 10) round things out.
