A man wanted in connection with an explosion in Manhattan Saturday night was taken into custody Monday, authorities said.

Ahmad Khan Rahami was captured by police after a shooting with police in Linden, New Jersey, news outlets reported Monday morning.

The explosion, which occurred in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, injured nearly 30 though none died.

NBC News reported that Rahami, an American citizen, was being transported to a hospital after his arrest.

President Barack Obama told reporters that officials were investigating the explosion but that there appeared to be no connection between recent stabbings in Minnesota and the explosions in Manhattan over the weekend.
