From Saturday to Sunday starting at noon and ending around 10 pm each day, three stages were filled with artists like Raphael Saddiq, Rick Ross, Teyana Taylor, DMX, Gucci Mane and more. Instead of naming all the artists who performed, I posted the line up below.
I would have loved to see every act that hit the stage over the weekend, but that was a difficult task. Walking in the park for over eight hours in the blistering heat is a bad combination for my physical health and mental well being. I learned from attending last year’s One Music Fest that you have to pace yourself. That means the decision on when to arrive, leave and everything in between was based not only on the schedule but also on my comfort level.
In all, I was able to see the emotions of Trina performing despite losing her mom two days earlier. I was able to see the festival honor Jermaine Dupri and Dallas Austin for their years in the music industry. I was able to see the Wu-Tang Clan still united after 25 years in the game and thousands of people brave the heat to watch it.
