The 18th Annual National Black Arts Festival (NBAF) Highlights Fine Art and Fashion in Atlanta

Tables were set up, but upon entering attendees mingled and had cordial conversations with each other.

Scholarships and awards were given out.

Notably, the Designer Extraordinaire Award was received by James Keith.

In honor of the late visual artist Radcliffe Bailey, the inaugural Radcliffe Bailey Award for Excellence in Visual Arts was introduced and given to visual artist Marilyn Nance.

In tribute to Bailey, there was a dance performance created by ADAMA and Komanse’ Dance Theatre for the High Museum entitled, “Permanent: EW, SN”.

In conclusion of the night, the keynote speaker was the Mayor of Atlanta Andre Dickens. He talked about the importance of supporting the arts and also paid homage to Atlanta’s first Black Mayor Maynard Jackson
