Not only was it very influential to a generation of fans of the Hip Hop culture it introduced the culture to fans who exist to this day. It also helped catapult the careers of legends like Robin Harris, John Witherspoon, and AJ Johnson.
Now you can add another accomplishment to the list in regards to the movie’s impact. In December 2022, the movie was added to the Library of Congress National Film Registry. Each year, 25 movies are selected by the Library of Congress and this year the comedy was selected.
