University of Missouri President Tim Wolfe resigns, after receiving pressure from school’s football team and graduate student

missouri pres 4Coach Gary Pinkel said he would back his players again under the same circumstances.

The is officially over!

“I supported my players and a young man whose life was on the line,” Pinkel told reporters. “My support of my players had nothing to do with anyone losing their job.”

Pinkel insisted that it wasn’t only black players behind the threat to boycott games, despite reports of grumbling from some white teammates.missouri pres 5

Prayers were answered although there’s a lot more work to do.

“Certainly there were some players that just went along with it, most likely,” Pinkel said.

J’Mon Moore, a sophomore wide receiver, said the team will resume practice Tuesday for Saturday’s game against Brigham Young University. Sophomore defensive end Charles Harris said he was proud to be part of a larger movement.

“Let this be a testament to all of the athletes across the country that you do have a power,” said Harris, who wore an “I Can’t Breathe” hoodie in honor of Eric Garner, who died in a police chokehold last year in Staten Island.
