GENEROUS DONORS are providing some families with transportation to NYC. Will you welcome and house these people who have lost so much, who are standing up? This will be the largest gathering of “stolen lives” family members ever brought together.
Families will stay from 1 to 4 nights in NYC. Some need housing Wed. October 21, through Sat. October 24. Others are coming just for one night. #RiseUpOctober will connect you with your guests ahead of time, so you can learn their stories.
Which Side Are You On? Do you stand with the people who are being victimized by police terror and murder and who refuse to live in a society like this, or do you stand with those who condone or justify these crimes?
People — It’s not enough to say this police terror is terrible, and maybe share the next outrageous video on Facebook. Oct 22-24 is the chance for thousands to act to actually STOP this epidemic.
This appeal for housing for the families is not just for those with a spare bedroom. This is an emergency. We can find space in our cramped NYC apartments for these brave family members. We can talk with our friends about doing this, and people in faith communities, at work, in classes. One film school graduate told RB, “It’s the least I can do” –she plans to sleep on the couch and give the bedroom to her guests.
