Chief Keef concert: Stage to be built into truck that can display holograms

Hologram USA, which holds interactive events, announced this week that Chief Keef will hold a free concert to benefit the family of a South Side toddler who was fatally struck by a car fleeing a weekend shooting that killed an associate of the rapper.

Chief Keef’s performance on a soundstage in Beverly Hills, Calif., will be shown at a yet-to-be-announced location in Chicago. A stage will be built into a semitrailer that can display holograms, Hologram USA spokesman Owen Phillips said. The concert will be live streamed on filmon.com.

Chief Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, can’t be in the Chicago area because of outstanding warrants, Phillips said.

A spokeswoman for the Cook County sheriff’s office said there is an outstanding July 2014 warrant out for Chief Keef for nonpayment of child support. The bond on the warrant, which is enforceable in Illinois only, is $10,000 cash. He also has a warrant out of Lake County for driving under the influence of drugs that was issued last year, according to records.

Hologram USA is a company run by entrepreneur Alki David, who last month offered $250,000 to anyone who streaks in front of Mayor Rahm Emanuel. David is the founder of the Internet TV provider FilmOn Network, which struck a two-album deal earlier this year with Chief Keef.
