Comedy Show Review: Kevin Hart Presents: Lil Rel “RELEVENT” at The Vic Theater

imageCo-signs from superstars and large audiences have not always been the norm for the Chicago comedian. The west side native, now New York resident talked about his transition from comedian on the local scene to rising star on the big screen. He also talked about his divorce and life with his two children. One of the more popular portions of Lil Rel’s routine is his commentary on “hoodrats.” I was kind of familiar with the jokes based on my extensive history of working and watching Lil Rel. Nonetheless it was still funny.

His stand-up routine wasn’t long but it was satisfactory. He was accompanied by two opening comedians who were funny as well. One of those comedians was Meechie Hall. The other comedian made a mistake and said “New York City is a great crowd” even though he was in Chicago. Based on that I can guess that he was tired and also the show is moving around to different cities. So if you didn’t get a chance to check the show in Chicago; I suggest that you catch them somewhere else if you can. You can also catch some of Lil Rel performances on Youtube; I posted a clip below.
