Looking good is crucial to the wives of the super-rich. In addition to those two-hour workouts, the housewife says that around 90 per cent of the women she knows have had some kind of cosmetic surgery, and everyone has Botox.
She explains that breast enlargements are typically booked in the spring, around April or May, so that scars and swelling have subsided by Memorial Day.
And it doesn’t end there: also popular among her set are liposuction for the arms, facial fillers and eyelash extensions.
It comes as little surprise that the area is teeming with women who also aspire to such a lifestyle. Our housewife says the Hamptons is ‘like a feeding frenzy’ for gold diggers. Not that she has a problem with it, because ‘people are always on the look out for the BBD [bigger better deal].’
What the wives of the super-rich really hate, she says, are social climbers, and she will avoid a person like the plague if they start name-dropping – a key warning sign.
‘That’s more transparent to me than someone who is looking for a better life,’ she says.
