Mary J. Blige gets her own day in Atlanta and the Key to Atlantic City in the span of one month 

This year she has received the Icon Award at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. She also graced the cover of Time magazine as one of their 100 most influential people. On May 5^th, the city of Atlanta honored her with a Strength of a Woman Day.

Then recently on June 4^th, Mayor Marty Small Sr. Of Atlantic City gifted the singer with the keys to the city. The ceremony happened during the “Together We Rise” Inaugural Gala afterparty, which Blige hosted. 

“As Mayor of the great city of Atlantic City, I saw that Atlanta gave you a day, [but] I’m presenting you with a key to the city,” Mayor Small said.
