My First Impressions of the 2024 Jazz in the Gardens Festival

Such was the environment at the 2024 Jazz in the Gardens Festival in Miami. It was my first time attending the festival, and the word I could use to describe the event was mature. This has nothing to do with age because there were young, middle-aged, and old people among the thousands of concertgoers.

Maturity was akin to the environment and energy surrounding the two-day event. It was cool, calm, and smooth. The weather, on the other hand, was hot, sticky, and uncomfortable. On the first day, it was almost 90 degrees outside! Standing in the heat and trying to get footage and pictures is a big no-no for me.

Despite the temperatures, it was still fun, and I got some cool photos and videos. So, let me take you through the crowd and to the front and back of the stage.

The first performer I got a chance to check out was Jaheim. Here are some of the photos and videos from his performance.

From there, I went backstage, where I caught up with Jaheim. Although he was reluctant to give me an interview, he took a picture alongside me and informed me that he has an album coming this year.

The next performer was Kirk Franklin, and instead of going in front of the crowd, I decided to catch his set from the stage. I must say, I was impressed by his talents. He danced, sang, played instruments, and was overall entertaining. Check out his photos and videos below.

By this time, I had a routine: film, take pictures of the performances, and go backstage. This time, caught up with Omarion, who performed earlier in the day. He was chopping it up with Kirk Franklin and DJ Nasty.

I tried to get an interview, but he was so preoccupied with shaking hands and taking pictures that it almost but it didn’t happen. You know what they say: if you can’t beat them, join them, so I settle for a picture with Omarion.

The next artist in the lineup was Kid Capri, and I would post his pictures and videos, but the story surrounding his performance deserves its own separate article. Therefore, I will end this here and hope you understand how my night went. In the meantime, I will post some more photos from the event. Check them out below.
