Bobby Brown says he could have saved Bobbi Kristina

brown regret 2“If I could have been there two days before, it wouldn’t have went down like that,” he said during an interview on Fox’s talk show “The Real,” which airs Monday.

Bobbi Kristina died July 26 at age 22. She was buried in New Jersey next to her mom, Bobby Brown’s former wife Whitney Houston.

Brown, who performed a July 4 concert in Atlanta, has had little to say publicly until now. He apologized for forgetting lyrics during the July 4 concert and alluded to the ordeal but didn’t mention his daughter specifically.

During the “Real” interview Brown says he held out hope that his daughter would pull through.

“We prayed and hoped for six months, you know, for something better to happen,” he said. “But when God calls you, he calls you.”

Controversy has persisted even after Bobbi Kristina’s passing. Her court-appointed conservator initially filed suit against her companion Nick Gordon in June, while Bobbi Kristina remained hospitalized. The suit was amended after Bobbi Kristina died, detailing a slew of new claims.

Nick Gordon’s legal team has responded seeking a dismissal on numerous grounds – namely that the suit against him lists damning allegations but no police reports, affidavits or other backing evidence.
