One of the game’s top guards, Booker didn’t even make the top 10 for Western Conference starting backcourt players. The NBA released the first results this week.
When asked if he was surprised by the voting, Booker paused and said, “Ummm. No.”
Booker is averaging 26.7 points and a career-best 7.8 assists this season for the Phoenix Suns (19-16).
A three-time All-Star, Booker has had a lower voting turnout from fans than players or media in the past. Taking that into account, Booker was asked if he cares about the results or not.
Closing his eyes, Booker just shook his head ‘no’ in response.
Q: Are you surprised you're not in the top 10 for fan voting?

A: "Ummm. No."
Q: Do you even care about it or no?
A: (Shakes head no)

Twitter responded for him.
“We gotta be better, he is the Phoenix Suns.” @TreyFiveBook.
“We letting our man down he deserves better smh.” @whiteboybran.
“WE failed him.” @WrldGoRoundBC.
“I haven’t seen bro this sad since he said ‘damn’ after losing in the finals. We got to be better man.” @JoeSwanson2k.

Fans account for 50% of the vote to decide All-Star starters. NBA players and a media panel account for 25% each.

Last season, Booker ranked 10th in fan voting, seventh in player votes and fifth in media votes.
Fans make up 50% of the voting for the starters while the players and media each have 25% of the vote. Fan voting remains open through Jan. 20. The 73rd NBA All-Star Game takes place Feb. 18 in Indianapolis.
Booker last played in an All-Star game two seasons ago. He has never been an All-Star starter, as the coaches pick the reserves.
Mavericks guard Luka Doncic, Warriors guard Stephen Curry and Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are the top three fan vote getters for two West backcourt starting spots.
Doncic leads with 1,452,733 votes. Curry is at 1,394,980 and Gilgeous-Alexander stands at 966,927.
However, Booker also is behind Lakers guard Austin Reaves, who is 10th with 170,500. More than anything, that part of the voting results had left Booker fans frustrated.
“He’s done nothing but dig this irrelevant team outta poverty and this is how y’all pay him back. Can’t even crack more votes then Klay Thompson and Austin Reaves. Don’t be sad when he leaves Phoenix. Keep that same energy then.” @Hoopsfan800.
