Hawthorne tattoo shop owner creates Batman art to help shooting victims fund

Instead of selling the work of art, he will be raffling off tickets at $10 a piece for a chance to win the painting. All funds raised will be donated to the Giving First Foundation that is providing relief to the Aurora victims and their families. Masot said some people have even donated money to support the cause without taking a raffle ticket.

“People love the painting,” said Masot. “They want to buy it but I tell them to buy a raffle ticket.”

For Masot, being able to help the foundation is something he is proud to do.

“I want to do something to be able to help,” he said. “It feels good.”

Raffle tickets can be purchased at Silk City Tattoo on 7 Garfield Ave., Hawthorne, by calling 973-238-9167 or email christianmasot@gmail.com. A video of Masot creating the painting is at  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy2UEW0mWTY&feature=youtu.be
