Since I’m not adventurer type, I guess I would not fully understand the reasoning behind those who make the attempt. What I can safely assume is that most of these climbers are not Black. It is not that I think that Black people are scary or adverse to a challenge. I just don’t think most Brothers and Sisters here in America think about climbing Mount Everest. There has been one Black woman who climbed to the top of the mountain in 2006.
Her name was Sophia Danenberg .
There was a South African by name of Sibusiso Vilane, who did it twice. Other than that, there have been too many Black folks who have been publicized trying to accomplish the feat. Maybe most of them feel like I do when it comes to nature and trying to brave the elements of God. That feeling is, you should leave it alone.
