I sat on the plane on my way to Victorville, a federal correctional complex in southern California. As I sat on the plane looking out the window, we flew over mountains and deserts just to get to the institution. When we landed we were instructed to leave the window curtains closed because if we opened them up it would get over one hundred degrees on the plane.
