San Jose teen charged as adult in slaying of parents

Omar Golamrabbi and his brother, Hasib Golamrabbi, 22, were being held at the Santa Clara Jail in connection with the slayings last weekend of their parents.

The bodies of Shamima Rabbi, 57, and her husband, Golam Rabbi, were found last weekend in their home in the Evergreen neighborhood, located in the 3000 block of Lucas Court in San Jose.

Police have released few details but authorities have said the couple had been shot to death inside their home. And investigators have said no other suspects are being sought in connection with the case.

The Rabbis moved to San Jose from Bangladesh over 30 years ago. The couple’s slaying has shocked residents in their upscale neighborhood.

It’s very, very hard to believe something like this could happen,” said Evergreen neighborhood resident Aswath Ayengar. “It’s a really peaceful area.”
Friends and family have placed flowers outside the deceased couple’s home where they lived with their two sons.
A source familiar with the crime scene told KTVU a hand-written note was found on the floor inside which read:

“Sorry, my first kill was clumsy.” And there was a second note said to be a manifesto of sorts written across a wall in the same ink.

In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, the eldest of the boys told the newspaper that his younger brother was not involved in the crime and the real story would emerge during trial.

“The best thing if anyone wants to know what happened is to wait for the trial,” said Hasib Golamrabbi told the newspaper.
