They’re Playing Basketball

Power Forwards

Dirk Nowitzki (DALLAS MAVERICKS): Can’t leave the best player from last year’s championship team out of the starting lineup. Funny thing is, before last year, Dirk was label as soft and not ready for primetime. The same thing that is being said about the man he beat for the title. Lebron James.  2011-2012 stats: (22.5 ppg 2.5 apg 5.5 rpg)

Blake Griffin (LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS): This was the hardest position to fill, my backup power forward. Like I said Dirk got the starting nod because he got the ring. But the NBA is filled with talented big men who are between 6’7 and 6’11 and can do a array of unique things on the basketball court. You got Lamarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol, Josh Smith and Amare Stoudemire just to name a few. But when it came down to the come down, I had to go with Blake. Not only is he a human highlight film (sorry Dominque) but he is also a relentless rebounder and an underrated passer. 2011-2012 stats: (26.0 ppg 2.6 apg 9.8 rpg)

Centers

Dwight Howard (ORLANDO MAGIC):  This was my easiest choice. Dwight Howard is the most dominate player in the league. The only player to ever win the Defensive Player of the Year three times in a row; he is a free agent after this year and what ever team he chooses to play for will instantly become championship contenders.  2011-2012 stats: (20.5 ppg 2.5 blkpg 15.2 rpg)

Marc Gasol (MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES):  Hard to believe a Gasol is in the lineup and his first name is not Pau. But younger brother Marc has a nice mid range shot and throws nice passes to cutters running in the paint. He also doesn’t share the passive and lackadaisical tags his brother has. He is aggressive and tough and he’s my backup center.  2011-2012 stats: (13.6 ppg 2.6 blkpg 10.9 rpg) v
