The veteran ultrarunners began their trip on Oct. 11 by running the Chicago Marathon — then they kept running to Beverly Shores, Indiana, that day — and arrived in the Big Apple on Friday.
“A journey of peace and perseverance,” Sweeney said Saturday. “What a trip this has been.”
The duo plans to compete in the NYC Marathon. They were running for the “Walk for Peace” charity, which seeks to stop violence in Kenya and raise money for a “Peace School.”
