Recently Chicago businessman Willie Wilson announced he will be running for the office of mayor of Chicago. This will be the third time that Wilson will try to become mayor of Chicago. He unsuccessfully tried in 2015 and 2019 to obtain that position. Additionally, he ran for president in 2016 and the U.S Senate in 2020. Wilson is a self-made multi-millionaire who once owned McDonald’s franchises and now owns Omar Medical Supplies.
Some people outside of Chicago may be familiar with Wilson from voluntarily giving out free gas to Illinois residents earlier this year. “We gotta make sure that the communities work together. One person cannot solve the problem of two or three million people or more. It takes togetherness,” Wilson said in a press conference announcing his candidacy.
Will the third time be a charm for Willie Wilson?
