Charles Barkley on Warriors: 1995–96 Bulls ‘would kill this little team’

“That Bulls team would kill this little team,” Barkley said Thursday while on ESPN Radio’s Waddle & Silvy show. “Come on, man. Who is going to guard Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan? What about Dennis Rodman?”

Barkley also added that he feels the sport is easier now than it was during the 1995–96 season when the Bulls went 72–10 and won Jordan’s fourth career championship.

“First of all, they would love playing the way the Warriors play. It‘s a much easier game now. Could you imagine how many points Michael would average if you couldn’t touch him? Dennis would get so many rebounds against that team. They are a very small team.”

Golden State currently has the best record in the league, improving to 25–1 on Wednesday night after defeating the Suns, 128–103. Despite the Warriors’ dominance, Barkley believes the San Antonio Spurs are going to win the NBA title this season.

“I still like the Spurs to win the championship this year. Just because these guys are beating up on inferior competition, don’t overreact now,” he said.

However, the Warriors have proved Barkley wrong once when they won the championship last season despite his doubts.
