I just wanted the brothers and sisters who are expecting babies or who are about to send their small children to school to be aware of this. The U.S school system is not set up for the black child to prosper. There is pipeline to prison system in place that isolates children with so call behavioral problems and conditions their mind to prepare for prison.
I read an article at hiphopandpoltics.com, it was written by a gentleman named Homeboy Sandman and he talked about the private prison corporation and how it correlates with the demise of the black male. He mentions CCA which stands for Corrections Corporation of America; he talks about their requirement for buying prisons in 48 states throughout America. “Last year Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), the biggest name in the private prison industry, contacted 48 states offering to buy their prisons. One stipulation of eligibility for the deal was particularly bizarre: “an assurance by the agency partner that the agency has sufficient inmate population to maintain a minimum 90% occupancy rate over the term of the contract.”
Almost half of the prison population consists of black men; (40.2%) which means in order to maintain that quota of 90 percent, prison officials will consistently keep black men imprisoned. Corporations are able to identify possible inmates early by investing in charter schools and for profit educational institutions. Companies with billion dollar portfolios are listing charter schools as an asset.
