Jermaine Dupri and Dallas Austin in Attendance to receive their Crown on Atlanta’s Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame

Among the inductees were NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Queen Latifah, Lil Wayne, and singer Mahalia Jackson. Two names that stood out amongst the list of legendary luminaries in the 2023 class were Jermaine Dupri and Dallas Austin.

Not only because of their accomplishments but because both are natives of Georgia.  Dupri grew up in College Park (Atlanta metropolitan area) while Dallas Austin was born in Columbus Georgia. They are regarded by many as two of the best producers in musical history.

The super producers came out to receive the honor of seeing their plaques being installed around the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The festivities kicked off with a performance from West Lake High School Marching Band.

The event was hosted by Atlanta’s own DJ Greg Street.

Politicians Natalie Hall and Erica Thomas were hand to present the awards to the inductees.
