All-time polling lows for both political parties – third party whispered in 2016

One survey gave the lowest-ever favorability to the GOP.  More than twice as many people having a negative view as a positive.  Leading the way in this disfavor of the masses to the government shutdown and continued failure of lawmakers find common ground.

The NBC News and the Wall Street Journal, showed that 60 percent of Americans would vote out every single member of Congress, including their own representatives.

That will never happen, but many politicians up for re-election may be singled out in the 2014 midterm elections.

In a separate Gallup poll, again a 60 percent number believe the country needs a strong third party – the highest ever percentage such.

Meanwhile, a new low was reached as only 26 percent believe the two major parties adequately represent Americans.

Only eighteen percent of Americans said they are satisfied with how Washington is running the country, down 14 percent from the 32 percent recorded last month – the lowest government satisfaction rating in Gallup’s history going back to 1971 and the Nixon years.

The Republicans continue to get more blame. More than twice as many hold a negative view of the GOP as a positive one, the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll found.

The Democratic Party was nearly equal, at about 40 percent.

The Journal/NBC poll of 800 Americans was conducted Oct. 7-9. The Gallup poll was taken among slightly more than 1,000 adults nationwide between Oct 3-6 and the AP poll was among 1,227 adults conducted from Oct. 3-7.
