Do you think your kid(s) and loved ones are grateful for the things you have done for them?

Even though a lot of the back and forth between the two seemed to focus on their relationship, it also apparently has a lot to do with the passing of Tytyana Miller. The 29-year-old was Master P’s daughter and Romeo’s sister passed away in May 2022 from accidental fentanyl intoxication.

Master P has said that he is using her death to try to raise awareness for mental health and substance abuse.  “I love my daughter, man,” he said during one of his concerts. “I miss her. I always was her parachute and now she’s my parachute in the sky looking over me. We not gonna grieve no more, we’re gonna celebrate because now I’m gonna be able to take care of millions of kids and save millions of lives”

However, Romeo made it known that he thinks his dad’s time and efforts should be concentrated on his own family.

This situation makes me think about a lot of things that I have gone through or people I know have experienced. The first is how many people are still upset at their parents. I know a lot of grown people who still have resentment towards their parents for missteps that may have made towards them growing up.

Romeo who is now 33 years old has obviously pondered on things that went right with his dad over the years. I understand this, coming from the standpoint that I too have harbored negative feelings towards my parents for some things that I felt they could have done better for me in my life. To tell you that I’m completely over those feelings would be a lie.

The second thing I thought about was my grandmother. When I was growing up, she used to tell everyone in my family to don’t let the neighbors know about our business. We can be fighting like dogs in our house, but don’t let that mess spill out to the streets. I’m guessing this theory doesn’t apply to the Miller family. I do understand that are celebrities and public figures, but this particular situation should have been handled behind closed doors, not on social media.

Finally, which is the most important thing is “honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”

This is in the Bible and one of the Ten Commandments. I remember when my mom used to tell me God is going to punish me for my disrespect towards her. I think about that and thought about that when I heard Romeo air out his dad.  I do agree with some of the things he said. Especially about how Master P has to “promote and hold every product on every interview.”

Now by the same token, I also agree with Master P. I have heard other parents talk about they don’t feel like appreciated by their kids and loved ones.

For instance, I hear it all the time from those of you celebrating Christmas and other holidays and talking about things you bought your child/children. Some of you are out here hustling, working overtime, and doing everything you can to put a smile on your loved ones’ faces.

Do you think they appreciate your efforts? Better yet do you think when they become adults that they will fully grasp the sacrifices you made to make their life better? Some parents say you not going to fully understand their struggle until you get a family of your own.

But, keep in mind Romeo is an adult and has children of his own and he still is salty with his dad.

And it doesn’t have to be your children. Some folks are out here making sacrifices for their whole family! Doing things and taking up responsibilities that other family members can’t and won’t do. Do you think your family and/or loved ones are grateful or do you feel unappreciated?

These are questions that you can respond back or just think about.

In the end, my final truth is that Romeo is wrong. I do know if you are a God-fearing person and believe in the Bible or Quran then that is obvious. Because you don’t have to deal with your parents or like what they do.  You don’t even need to have a relationship with them, but you still need to honor and respect them.
